Welcome to our website. Here we would like to tell you a little about ourselves.

German Shepherd Dogs are our first love and we have been around/owned them between us for over 35+ years. I Karen grew up with GSDs as my parents had them and knew i would want one of my own some day. When Peter and i got together in 1993 Peter had a GSD and my wish for one was answered. Sadly 3 months after we got together Radar as he was called passed away leaving a big hole in our hearts. A few months later we decided that we would like another GSD so the hunt for one started.

We rehomed a young German Shepherd male Amiscus Wandering Minstral. He was 18months old when we rehomed him and began showing him at Companion shows. We were instantly hooked and our showing career started. After he passed away through old age we acquired another male German Shepherd puppy from Pat Rusden of the "Penwartha" show kennel called Penwartha Christmas Spark at Ridgebrook. We showed him at Companion Shows and Open shows and doing really well at Open shows we decided to try showing him at Championship shows where we were over the moon to qualify him for Crufts. We then acquired a GSD bitch, Billnets Abby Rose, from Bill and Jeanette Petrie of the "Bilnetts" show kennel and started showing both dogs at Championship Shows qualifying them for Crufts many times.

We really enjoyed showing our GSDs and met some really good friends in the breed along the way. Unfortunately age was starting to rear its ugly head and finding German Shepherds physically harder to show we decided to look for a smaller breed to continue our showing hobby.

After looking at many smaller breeds we eventually came across Schipperkes.

Our association with Schipperkes started in 1998 when a friend of ours acquired one for her sister to show. We went along to see this little dog and we were instantly hooked on the breed.  These hardy little whirlwinds, so much like German Shepherds in character and intelligence, won us over and we have been showing them ever since. They really are a big dog in a little package!

Our first Schipperkes , Franhowil Black Majic and Franhowil Wizardry came from the "Franhowil" kennel owned by Frank Howard Williams and David Short. Byquy Parker came from the  "Byquy" Kennel owned by Melanie and David Peck. Franhowil Black Majic and Byquy Parker both gained Reserver Challenge Certificates as well as many 1st places. When all three became too old to show they lived a full and happy life in retirement.

 

​After a short break from showing, 2016 saw a new generation of Schipperkes joining us. Two black males, Deakie Donnie Dinnie bred by Claire Davis of the "Deakie" affix and Fandal's Viljam at Ridgebrook who is a natural bobtail bred by Kristiina Laural of the "Fandal's" affix and imported from Finland. Also a cream bitch, Ristine Gold Pandora, who was bred by Christine Massey of the "Ristine" affix and co-owned by ourselves and Claire Davis.

All three are doing us proud in the show ring. We couldn't be more pleased.
